First Christmas tree SB page

The first challenge for the Stamp Something Challenges was firsts...how appropriate. Anything firsts goes. First baby, first tooth, first car, first time doing anything...you get the picture =). Anyway I thought why not first Christmas tree? Now this isn't actually my first Christmas tree ever of course, but this was mine and hubby's first Christmas married, so it's the first one that was *really* ours. We had fun decorating it and trying to keep it from falling over, lol (you can read the journaling if click on the picture). The journaling was done in Microsoft word. I just left enough room to stamp the Christmas trees.

Ways to use it challenge card

I'm not really sure why, but I've never done any of the ways to use it challenges on SCS. I finally did one today though =). It was WT164 All Ruffled up. The challenge was to make pleats or ruffles so I made some by folding DSP back and forth. The DSP was 1/2" by 18". I just taped the paper together inside one of the ruffles.

The inside of the flower looks like it was colored with Pretty in Pink, but all I did was use a blender pen to drag the color from the Pomegranate outlines. It works great. The flower fusion flower looks kinda funny in the picture. It doesn't look so bad IRL. -Stamp-One of a Kind, Priceless
-Ink-Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate
-Paper-Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White cardstock; Rose Red prints DSP.
-Accessories-Flower Fusion, Styled Silver HPH, Pretty in Pink grosgrain and SAB rub-on sentiment.

I love IKEA!!

Wow! My mom and I went to IKEA Friday for the first time. The closest one is 4 hours away, so thats why we haven't been sooner. I still can't get over how awesome that place is! I can't wait to go back.I got a few new things for my stamp room =). I got the BYGEL rails, metal baskets and a few cups. I absolutely LOVE these things. The price is really good too. I only paid about $45 for 5 rails, 11 baskets and 3 plastic cups. The wouldn't all fit on one wall so I have 3 right next to me and the other 2 are on the wall my table is on.
This bookcase I use to store my stamp sets. This didn't come from IKEA though, but I didn't have this last time I posted pics of my stamp room. This came from Wal-mart. Excuse all of the holes in the wall ;). I need to do a little sheetrock work and then paint.

And this is a bookcase I've been wanting forever. It's called the EXPEDIT. I wanted to get the bigger one, but I didn't really have the space for it without blocking my only window in this room. The boxes inside are KASSETT magazine boxes. I also got two packs of the LINGO magazine files. I decided I'm going to paint this room either So Saffron or Apricot Appeal. I think that will go really nice with the black, white and red stuff I have in here.If you want to see the rest of my stamp room I posted pictures HERE a while back. I don't have the shelves on the walls for stamp sets anymore, but pretty much everything else is the same aside from my new stuff ;).

SCS challenges

This card is for the sketch challenge SC172 and the color challenge CC163 on SCS. The color challenge was to use Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink.

This is my first time sewing on a card. I've always loved the look of it, but I've been to lazy to try it. My sewing machine is a piece of junk so I did it by hand. I just poked all of the holes with the paper piercing tool using the mat pack, then ran the thread through with a needle. Much easier that I thought it would be and I think it really ads a lot to a card.

I stamped the bird in Chocolate Chip and colored with the pastels using a Q-tip. -Stamps-Always and Define Your Life
-Ink-Chocolate Chip
-Paper-Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery cardstock; Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery prints DSP.
-Accessories-Pastels, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack and Brown thread

Ribbon Weaving

I just saw this on Kristina's blog. She has a video tutorial showing how to do the ribbon weaving. Her blog is awesome by the way!
Woohoo, I'm finally using my Flower Fusion! I ordered it when the new catty came out and haven't used it till now. I used one of the rub-ons from SAB on the ribbon. I love how you can put them just about anywhere! You have to be careful on the weaved ribbon though. Every time I'd rub I'd feel the ribbon sliding around. I'm kinda surprised it came out so well.

This card uses no ink or stamps!

Paper-Rose Red & Pretty in Pink cardstock; Summer Picnic DSP
Accessories-Flower Fusion, Wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, SAB rub-ons and styled silver HPH brad.

SC169 Tart and Tangy

I have to say this card surprised me. I hate Yo-Yo Yellow, and I've hardly touched Wild Wasabi or Pumpkin Pie. I had the basic idea for this card in my head, but when I went to make it I realized I'd have to use these colors which I thought would look really bad together. I'm actually really happy with it though. I was browsing the past sketch challenges on SCS and came across SC169 from a few weeks ago and I knew it would be perfect. I think I'll definitely be using this sketch a lot. I don't think you can tell in the pic, but the brad on the main panel is from the new Hodgepodge hardware. It says Genuine. I LOVE the new HPH! It's so pretty I can hardly bring myself it use it.

-Ink-Yo-Yo Yellow, Wild Wasabi, and Only Orange (I don't have Pumpkin ink yet).

Puppy update-
Some of you may remember my post about the puppies I was having a hard time finding homes for. Well this really wonderful person saw my post and contacted me. They emailed several rescues trying to help me, and one of them sent out a mass email to rescues in other states. A foster home for a animal shelter (when they don't have room) contacted me and said she could take some of them. In the meantime I did find homes for 4. Between the woman in PA and friend of hers they were able to take the remaining 5. Her friend drove all the way down to SC! I met her at a shelter in Greenville where she was picking up 5 other dogs to rescue. The lady that came to get them and her family kept 2 of them, and the other woman kept one and is fostering the other two till homes can be found for them. They have both sent me pictures. The puppies are all doing great! I can't tell you how amazing these people are. Thank you all so much for everything you do!!
