Christmas cards

Good afternoon! I hope you are having a good Wednesday. I made a few more Christmas cards to get a little head start. I got this adorable little C.C. Designs monkey in WRAK. This paper is pretty thin, so I went out of the lines like crazy, but I didn't want to waste the adorable image, so I cut him out. I love the C.C. Designs monkey! He is just the most adorable little thing! I wish they had a set that was just the monkeys. Anyway, I colored this image a couple of weeks ago, so I don't remember which colors I used. -Stamps-C.C. Mojo Monday sketch

Hello! I just made this card for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch Challenge. I got this stamp set for Christmas, and still haven't used it, so I thought I'd ink it up. The image is from What's brewing by Impression Obsession, and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado coffee classics. I inked the words in the sentiment separately and kinda rearranged some of them so the image would fit too.

And this one uses an old Mojo Monday sketch, #2. Love this sketch! My card is looking a little off balance though. The layer on the right should have been up higher, but I actually used glue this time (normally use double sided tape) so I couldn't pull it back apart. So, I put some brads at the top to see if it would help, but I don't think they really work with the polka dots. I thought of starting over, but there is no way I'm wasting that gorgeous DSP =). Oh, well. I still like the card though. I think I'm going to do this sketch again, but no off balance, lol.

Give Thanks

Hello! I hope you all had a good weekend! I did! I spent most of it coloring, lol. My new markers came Saturday afternoon. Having more light colors really makes a difference! I found two more copic video tutorials this weekend too. They are both great! THIS one is by Linda of Linda's Works of Heart, and THIS one is by Sandy of It's a colorful world. I learned a lot from them both. I think my coloring is finally improving! It's also a LOT easier on stamps with more space in them like this one. Unfortunately my camera sucks! This really does look a lot better in person. My camera tends to make things look washed out. There are a lot more light colored highlight areas than you actually see. I wasn't even planning on doing anything with this image. I colored it and was happy with how it came out, so I made it into a card. I didn't write down the colors I used though, since I didn't expect it to actually come out good.

I bought this cornucopia stamp a while back with the sole purpose of coloring it. I don't send out Thanksgiving cards, so I really don't have a use for it, but I thought it looked fun to color, and would be good practice. I did another one in totally weird colors experimenting with color combinations. I wrote the color numbers I used so I'd remember them later. I LOVE stamps that have the built in shading! It makes it lot easier for me. I'm horrible about knowing where to put shadows. So remember my Copic storage box I posted a couple weeks ago? Well a few of my new Copics wouldn't fit, so I made a new one! I like this one much better! I had to many colors together in the other one that I didn't really like having together, so I put extra 'shelves' in this one.
Here's what it looks like empty. As you can see, so my my shelves are a little crooked, but it's not hurting anything. I made this one So Saffron, because that's the color of my stamp room.

Taylor's Sketch challenge

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend! I made this card yesterday for Taylor's Cupcake Sketch challenge. This is such a fun sketch. I'm not really loving my card though, but I don't have anything else to share right now, so I thought I'd post it anyway . Normally when I'm not happy with something, I'll stay at it until I am, but this one was about to end up in the trash if I kept messing with it. I was getting mad, lol. I stared off with the SU scallop circle and Boho Backgrounds, but it looked too small, so I went with this. I must have cut out 15 circles and colored that darn dog at least 5 times. It was always something. Either my ink was running out of the lines, or I stamped the sentiment too hard, or I got a lopsided looking circle. Ugh!As you can tell, my circle cutter sucks, lol. It kind of weaves in and out sometimes. It's not quite as crooked as it looks in this picture though. I'm not even going to tell you how long I spent on this card .

Well, I better go clean up a little bit. My stamp room needs some cleaning too. I haven't put anything away in a while, so I'm really running out of table space, lol. Hopefully I'll have some time to stamp and visit your blogs later. I am so behind in my Google Reader again .

Sketch cards

Good morning! I hope you are all having a good day. Guess what? I finally ordered some Copic markers! OMG, I am so excited! I've been dying to get some for a while, but I was scared to start buying them and then getting sucked in and feeling like I need them all, which I'm sure will happen . I got 16, so I'm hoping I can get by for a while with those colors. I can't wait to get them! They shipped yesterday!

Yesterday my best friend Caroline came over to stamp with me. I managed to get two cards done! Both of them use the CPS sketch from last week-CPS90. I LOVE this sketch! It's so versatile, and has a bunch of layers.

The image on the first card I made few weeks ago. Just one of those things I couldn't figure out what in the heck to do with.

My blog is doing that double spacing junk again, but it's so weird! It's only doing it under the pictures. It's fine where I'm typing right now. It won't let me change the size of the text down there either, but it will let me change the font and the color. So anyway, I just didn't skip spaces, because it was just too long!

Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! TGIF! You know what Friday means! This weeks Stamp Something Challenge is sponsored by Queen Kat Designs. They have a great sketch for us. I love sketches!

I couldn't get a good picture of this card. The background is stamped in Real Red with the polka dots from Itty Bitty Backgrounds, but it won't show up. All of the penguins hats are paper pieced with the prints paper from last year. Whoops...I just noticed that I forgot to color in the penguins noses. I also meant to put some stickles on their hats, but I got distracted and then forgot. I guess it's just one of those days .

Good morning! Wow, I don't think I've ever actually posted this early before. All of my early morning posts have been scheduled . I'm so not a morning person! Anyway, I still haven't decided if I like the way this one turned out. I started with a totally different layout, but I screwed that up and came up with this .

I am all done with my Christmas cards (36)!! Woohoo! I don't think I've ever gotten done so early! I'll probably still make some more though. Christmas cards are my favorites to make! Didn't I tell ya I love Christmas! Seriously, I'm listening to Christmas music right now.

Oh, I mentioned in a previous post that I already have my Christmas tree up, and someone asked if I take it down early, since I put it up so early...Nope! It will be there till at least new years, but it might be even longer than that.

Well I'm off to watch Desperate Housewives online. Once again, I forgot to watch it last night when it came on! Seriously, I can't for the life of me remember to watch it when it's actually on, and it's my favorite show!

New stamps =)

I got a new stamp set yesterday =). I have just discovered the great prices of Inkadinkado clear stamps! I've been wanting a dog set for a while, and this one was just too cute to pass up. I starting looking online at other Inkadinkado stamp sets and found several more I couldn't live without...I can't wait till they get here! I also just put in a small SU order.

The border around the paw print is from Priceless. I just inked everything but the flower. I'm not too sure how I feel about it right above the dogs head, but that spot looked really bare with the way the sentiment curves. -Stamps-Priceless and Inkadinkado Dogs
