Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! So as I forgot to mention last week, 4 of us are leaving the Stamp Something design team at the end of this month. So because of that, the challenges this month are going to be a little bit different. This week the challenge is to use Melissa's favorite color, which is pink to honor her, and to use a Birthday theme. I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch for this card.

-Stamps-Priceless, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Riding Hood Red and White cardstock; Pink Pirouette patterns DSP
-Ink-Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette
-Accessories-White grosgrain, Scallop edge punch.

Stop by and check out what the rest of the design team members came up with! And why not play along with us? Stamp Something is looking for some new DT members, so if your interested in that you definitely want to play along!

Be Happy

Hello! I hope you are having a great day! I meant to post earlier today, but I ended up spending most the day working in my garden. People that know me know I don't garden, lol. I don't like dirt, especially under my fingernails, don't like getting dirty and I don't like bugs lol. I'm working on it though. I still don't like doing it, but I do like the result. I'll post a picture when I get it done. I've got to get some more mulch and just a few more plants and I'm done biggrin. My hubby took a week of vacation time so we could get some stuff done around the house. Yesterday we worked out in the yard. Fun stuff, lol.
Saturday we went to a state park with some friends and rented some canoes. That was a lot of fun. There are trees all through the water and you go through them like a trail. I think it's almost 2 miles each way. It's really nice out there. Very peaceful. They have little signs everywhere telling you which way to go. We are going again tomorrow with some other friends.

I am NOT as white as I look in this picture, lol. I am pale, but not that pale! Unfortunately they all look like this. I don't even think I had the flash on. Not sure why it looks like that. That's my husband Sam behind me, and our friends Christy and Donnie in the other canoe.

This is when we were coming out of the trails and opens back up to a big pond. We raced back across the pond. Me and hubby won biggrin. My arms were burning after all that paddling!

I did manage to get one card made though. I just got this adorable Missmatch Ketto image from WRAK. I LOVE the Ketto's from stamping bella! They are so cute! Really fun to color too.

-Stamps-SU So Many Sayings, Stamping Bella Missmatch Ketto
-Paper-Regal Rose, Rose Red and White cardstock; Pretty in Pink prints and Cutie Pie DSP
-Ink-Black, Rose Red
-Copics-G20, G21, R81, R83, R85, RV19, E11, YR31, E33, C1, 0
-Accessories-Celery grosgrain, HPH, silver brads

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Thoughts and Prayers Birthday

Good morning! Hope you had a nice weekend! I got a lot of stamping done, but hardly anything actually completed. I'm so bad about starting a card and setting it aside to start another one. I finally got a box to put unfinished cards in so I don't forget about them. There's also a bunch of images in there I've colored that I haven't done anything with yet. razz BTW, no signs of the nasty little centipede since it so rudely visited me Thursday. Whew! I hope to never see that hideous thing again. Hopefully all those nasy little legs carried his ugly self back outside where he belongs. Anyway, I thought I'd use my Thoughts and Prayers set. I really love these stamps, but they aren't getting much use since I can't color them wink. I need to stop discriminating against my solid image stamps, lol. I used one of the stamps from So Many Sayings with my SAMJ to make the stripes (my set is cut apart and mounted on jenga blocks).

Hope you have a great day!!

BTW, make sure you check out Tiffany's blog. She is giving away some great stuff!!

-Stamps-Thoughts and Prayers, It's Your Birthday and So Many Sayings
-Paper-Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Kraft and Chocolate Chip
-Ink-Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red; Old Olive and Chocolate Chip markers
-Accessories-HPH, Chocolate twill, American Crafts wide grosgrain, paper piercer, mat pack, swiss dots embossing folder, SAMJ

Be mine bag

I made this box in a bag for the Papertrey It's in the bag challenge, which was to make, alter or decorate a bag and also for the Color Throwdown challenge, which was to use Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip. This is one of my favorite color combos. I've been meaning to make one of these bags for the longest time, but every time I sat down to stamp, I'd forget! They are so easy! I think I'll fill it with candy and give it to hubby for Valentines day. Have y'all checked out the ribbon at Walmart recently? They have some really nice satins and grosgrains by the yard (they have some spools too). I found pretty close matches for Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Soft Sky. I'm going to try to find more colors next time I'm there. I'll be back tomorrow with my card for the Stamp Something Challenge.

-Stamps-Priceless, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Riding Hood Red and Whisper white cardstock; Pink Pirouette DSP
-Ink-Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip
-Accessories-Satin ribbon (from walmart), nestabilities, corner rounder punch, circle cutter, round tab punch

Scallop circle cards

Good afternoon! I hope you all had a great weekend! I finally put in my new catalog order!! Woohoo! I can't wait! I ordered Thoughts & Prayers, Fifth Avenue Floral, Cheers to you and a few accessories. None of the SAB sets are really my style so I got the ribbon bundle and the DSP. I can't wait! I know I already said that, but it seems like it's been so long since I've ordered some SU goodies! I'm excited!

The other day I was looking at my nestabilities thinking how cute a card would be made from one that opened somehow. So that's what I did. On this one the white Wild Wasabi piece under the white lifts up.
I just punched though all the layers except for the scalloped one twice and ran the ribbon though that. Then I just scored to make it open. I used a circle needle point plastic canvas thingie to do the piercing. I'm so glad I can pierce circles now! Free hand wasn't even an option, lol. I've tried rolleyes.

-Stamps-Tart & Tangy, Much Appreciated
-Paper-Whisper White, YoYo Yellow and Wild Wasabi
-Ink- YoYo Yellow, Only Orange and Wild Wasabi
-Accessories-Circle cutter, Circle Nestabilities, Wild Wasabi ribbon, paper piercer and needle point canvas

I made this one for hubby. The Pink Pirouette piece lifts up, and there is another Pink Pirouette circle underneath with the sentiment.

-Stamps-Always, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa
-Ink- Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa
-Accessories-Circle cutter, Circle Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip twill ribbon, white signo gel pen, paper piercer and needle point canvas

Glittery flower

I made the flower for this card a few days ago, but I couldn't figure out what the heck to do with it. I love glitter! Can ya tell? wink I stamped and cut out the flower 3 times, and glittered them using heat and stick powder and Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter. The layout was inspired from an old SCS sketch challenge, but I can't remember which one and I'm too lazy to go look wink.

-Stamps-Fabulous Flowers, So Many Sayings
-Paper-White and Black cardstock; Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette patterns DSP
-Ink-Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and versamark
-Accessories-Offray Ribbon, Heat & Stick powder, Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter, paper piercing tool, mat pack.

Oh, and Cheryl asked to see my Christmas tree, so here it is =). Can ya tell I'm a little bit of a Hallmark freak? My mom and I always hit for Hallmark first thing the day after Christmas biggrin. She has TONS of them! Her tree is gorgeous! Whoops, I just realized I chopped the angels head off, lol. The top strand of lights isn't working. I just got this tree last year, so I called the customer service number, and they said they would send me a new top (it's 3 pieces). Well it came a few days ago, and wasn't the right top...It would't fit. Only I didn't realize that until I had undecorated the top of my tree and had it off. So I had to redecorate it, and I get to do it again when the right top comes...oh well. My walls are Cranberry Crip BTW. I'm thinking of repainting though. This color looks really funny in certain lights.
Hope you all have a great day!

Check this out

A few days ago I was blog hoppin' and came across the very talented Carolyn King's blog. You have got to go there now and check out THIS post. She is having a huge blog candy giveaway in honor of world Alzheimer's day. This is such a horrible disease that has taken so many wonderful people. This is especially near and dear to me because my grandmother has Alzheimers disease. Carolyn is asking that we send cards to the caregivers of Alzheimer's patients, which I think is a fabulous idea, so I am sending this card to my grandmother's nursing home.

This is SC195 on SCS.

-Stamps-Upsy Daisy, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Apricot Appeal and Whisper White cardstock; Pretty in Pink and Rose red prints DSP.
-Ink-Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate and Apricot Appeal.

Tart & Tangy and Big Pieces

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted lately. I've been a little busy. Anyway, I've got two easy one's today. I used this Clean & Simple sketch for the first one. I LOVE this sketch. I didn't stick with it exactly, but I'm happy with how it came out. The background looked horrible in this picture, so I just cut it out and made it white.
-Stamps-Tart & Tangy, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Bashful Blue, Old Olive, and Whisper White cardstock; Summer Picnic DSP.
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive
-Accessories-Styled Silver HPH, Stampin' Dimensionals.

I've been seeing this color combo a lot lately, so I had to give it a try wink. This card took no time! I liked it a lot better before the paper piercing though. Don't ya just hate when your done with a card, and decide to add something else to it and you don't like it? Yeah, I do that a lot lol.

-Stamps-Big Pieces
-Paper-Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper white
-Ink-Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie
-Accessories-Copper brads

Valentines day, index and inspiration book =)

I haven't done much stamping lately...well actually thats not true. I made an index of all of my stamp sets finally!! I recently moved all of them to a bookcase ,so now I can't see them anymore, so indexing was a must =). It took me forever! But of course I wanted my indexes to be pretty =). Most of the pages have a different color scheme. This is just a photo album that hold 4X6 pictures. There were a few stamp sets that took two pages though.
I've also been working on this. I made the book a while back out of chipboard. I used the hardware from a scrapbook to hold it together, then regular page protectors fit inside. This is my inspiration book. Whenever I print out directions for something, or sketches or whatever it goes in here. These are some of my favorite color combos. I just typed up the combos in word and stamped the color above it.

These are some of my favorite sketches. Mostly from SCS, but there are some from other places also.
Here is the only card I'm made lately. This was hubby's valentines day card. I'm not really happy with it though. For some reason I always really struggle when making cards for him. I guess I'm probably trying to hard.
Would you believe I don't have a single stamp set with hearts?! There is a stamp in so many sayings thats a row of tiny little hearts, but thats it! I keep buying to many darn flower set. I just realized when I was indexing that at least 80% of my stamps are flowers. -Stamps-Unfrogettable, So Many Sayings
-Paper-Ruby Red, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel and Watercolor paper.
-Ink-Black Stazon and Old Olive. Markers-Ruby Red, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa
-Accessories-Paper Piercing tool, Mat Pack and Ticket Corner Punch.

Saturday we went snow tubing with some friends! OMG it was so much fun. We went to Winterplace in West Virginia (what a drive!). The lines were absolutely horrible though! We were there from about 1:30-6:30 and only got to go down 7 times-But even with all that and 13 hours of driving, it was so worth it! Here's some pictures hubby got of me coming down =).
