Riley

Hello! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! My mojo seems to be hiding right now. I've sat at my stamp table many times in the last week, and just didn't feel like doing anything. Maybe it's the heat combined with the fact that our air conditioner isn't working rolleyes, but I don't feel like doing a thing! Ugh, it's 89 degrees in here right now. Our air is blowing fine, but the air is not cold at all. I tried it earlier and it was actually making the house hotter! Hopefully we can figure out what's wrong with it soon!

More Christmas cards =)

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! I saw this color combo somewhere recently, but I can't remember where. The card I saw used Baja Breeze though, but I don't have that color yet, so I used Soft Sky. This first card looked a lot better before I put those huge brads on. Problem was though, I poked all the holes with my paper piercer, and then decided the holes I poked were too close to the edge so I poked new ones next to them. Then I decided that smaller brads would look much better, but by that point it was too late, because the small brads wouldn't cover up both holes. Duh! lol Oh, well. I'm still pretty happy with it though. The brads were silver, but I just embossed them to make them white. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this stamp set! I love coloring it! I wanted to use my Copics, but I didn't have the right colors, so I used an SU marker for the Burgundy and an Aqua Painter with my Soft Sky ink pad.

Loved the color combo so much I decided to make another biggrin. I just inked up the image with Soft Sky, and then went right over it with markers.

Easy Christmas card

This is a super simple Christmas card. I love Snow Flurries and Seeing Spots together. I made a card kinda similar to this the year before last, and then I made another last year based on the other, and now this one. Just casing myself I guess =). Too bad I made it upside down, lol. I didn't even realize it until I was standing it up to get a picture of it. Haha, I can't believe I did that. Oh well. I'll fix it later. Probably just flip it over and use the back.-Stamps-Snow Flurries, Seeing Spots and Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper white
-Ink-Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Purely Pomegranate
-Accessories-Paper Piercer, Mat Pack and Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It won't be too much longer, and I've still got a lot of cards to make. I like to make them all different, but this year there may have to be some duplicates.

So I guess you can see I haven't put away my sewing machine from the card I posted Tuesday. That dang this is heavy though! I keep meaning to get one of those little ones. Anyway, I got a little crazy with the glitter too =). On this one I painted Elmer's glue using a paint brush on the snow, the snowmen and a little on the tree.
-Stamps-Wishing you Cheer, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, Soft Sky, and Whisper White
-Ink-Soft Sky and Real Red
-Accessories-Soft Sky reinker and Blender pen, Glue Dots, sewing machine and white thread, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Martha Stewart glitter: Crystal Coarse, Crystal Fine and Carrara Marble.

Yeah, so this one is pretty overdone. My plan was to put the stitching where you see it closest to the outside. Just one go around, not two. I accidentally sewed the Real Red to the Old Olive, which just looked really funny to me, so I decided to go ahead and sew that piece to the base, even though I knew it would probably come out overdone.
-Stamps-Season of Joy, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White
-Ink-Old Olive, Summer Sun, Real Red and Close to Cocoa
-Accessories-Martha Stewart Glitter Crystal Fine, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Sewing Machine and thread.

Awesome One Sheet Wonder

Good afternoon! The other day I saw a link somewhere to THIS one sheet wonder in the Verve forum on SCS. It's great! All you need is one sheet of 6 X 6 double sided DSP, and some cardstock to make 4 cards.

I always forget that the Dashing DSP has Very Vanilla in it, instead of Whisper White so on 3 of the 4 cards I used WW until I realized it, lol.
-Stamps-Holiday Blocks (retired), Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive, River Rock and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

I just inked up part of the image on this one my markers.
-Stamps-Season of Joy
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive markers
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

-Stamps-Holiday Tag Team, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red; Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black markers.

The poinsettia is was stamped in classic Real Red, but it was still so wet after I stamped it, I was about to heat set it so I wouldn't smear it, and decided to just emboss it with clear EP instead. Then I gently curled the edges and put Stampin' Dimensionals underneath, along with the three layers underneath.

-Stamps-Season of Joy, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, River Rock, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive
-Accessories-Clear EP, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sewing machine and red thread

This one I'm really happy with. It looks a lot better in person. Well aside from the Bashful Blue moon. My ink pad is getting dry, and I keep forgetting to order a darn reinker for itrolleyes. The moon and star along with the Barely Banana panel are popped up with stampin dimensionals. The sentiment at the bottom doesn't really show up in the picture. It says welcome, little one.

Stamp Something Challenge 8

Happy Friday! It's time for another Stamp Something Challenge. Melissa is our hostess this week. Her challenge is to create something red, white and blue...........and have it be ANYTHING BUT A CARD! At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this challenge because I have no stamps that are even remotely patriotic (I know, shame on me). So I had to think outside of the box. I remembered one of my favorite color combos: Soft Sky, Whisper White and Bravo Burgundy which is perfect for Christmas, so that's what I went with. I know it's a stretch, but technically it's still Red, White and Blue right? =) The tin can be found HERE. It's filled with Hershey's Kisses.
-Stamps-Crazy For Christmas, Many Merry Messages and Snow Flurries
-Paper-Soft Sky, Bravo Burgundy and Whisper White
-Ink-Soft Sky, Bravo Burgundy and black Staz-on.
-Accessories-Scallop Punch, Circle Punches, Bravo Burgundy grosgrain and tin.

Nugget boxes

My original plan for Christmas gifts was nugget tins, but everyone was sold out of them. I did a few like these, but they were just too much trouble for the amount I needed, so thats why I ended up making cocoa tins. I got the pattern for this from SCS. -Stamps-Snowflake Spot, Many Merry Messages.
-Ink-Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip
-Paper-Purely Pomegranate & Whisper White Cardstock. Blizzard wrapping paper
-Accessories-Scallop Circle punch, Circle punch, Avery Labels, Brayer, retired copper cord.

This one is a gift card tin (I don't know where it came from though. I've had it laying around for a while begging me to decorate it). This tin holds 8 nuggets.-Stamps-Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock; Blizzard Wrapping paper
-Accessories-Bashful Blue ribbon.

Thursday Sketch # 8 Wishing you Cheer

Here is my 8th Thursday sketch. I ended up liking this sketch more than I thought I would.
I stamped the images on watercolor paper so that when I colored them with markers the lines wouldn't show. After coloring them, I went over them with a aqua painter and dabbed off some of the ink with a paper towel in places to lighten it a bit, but I think all I did was make the trees look blotchyrolleyes, lol.
I shaded the side of the snowman and the snow with the Bashful Blue watercolor crayon, but I'm not sure if that shows up in the picture. -Stamps-Wishing you Cheer, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Dashing DSP (I am loving this papermrgreen), Watercolor paper and River Rock, Real Red, and Old Olive Cardstock
-Ink-River Rock, Black stazon, Real Red
-Accessories-Pewter hodgepodge hardware, Aqua painter, Bashful Blue watercolor crayon, Markers:Real Red, Old Olive, Summer Sun.
