Scallop circle cards

Good afternoon! I hope you all had a great weekend! I finally put in my new catalog order!! Woohoo! I can't wait! I ordered Thoughts & Prayers, Fifth Avenue Floral, Cheers to you and a few accessories. None of the SAB sets are really my style so I got the ribbon bundle and the DSP. I can't wait! I know I already said that, but it seems like it's been so long since I've ordered some SU goodies! I'm excited!

The other day I was looking at my nestabilities thinking how cute a card would be made from one that opened somehow. So that's what I did. On this one the white Wild Wasabi piece under the white lifts up.
I just punched though all the layers except for the scalloped one twice and ran the ribbon though that. Then I just scored to make it open. I used a circle needle point plastic canvas thingie to do the piercing. I'm so glad I can pierce circles now! Free hand wasn't even an option, lol. I've tried rolleyes.

-Paper-Whisper White, YoYo Yellow and Wild Wasabi
-Ink- YoYo Yellow, Only Orange and Wild Wasabi

I made this one for hubby. The Pink Pirouette piece lifts up, and there is another Pink Pirouette circle underneath with the sentiment.

Always

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I haven't been feeling that creative. I've got new SU stuff coming Tuesday though. New stuff always makes me feel more creative. I didn't order much this time, but I got Upsy Daisy (which I LOVE) and two of the new In Colors. I can't wait! mrgreen

Here is a card I just finished making for my husband. No occasion, just because I love him biggrin. This card was inspired by Markie's Mom on SCS. Faith has amazing attention to detail. You can see her card HERE. She used SC160 which I thought looked perfect with this set. I love the dots on her card too, but my signo gel pen only works when it wants to now, so I pierced instead.

Stamp Something Challenge 3

Good morning! Well today is Friday which means another great Stamp Something Challenge! This weeks theme is "Faux Somethings". So anything faux goes. Theres faux silk, leather, metal, stitching, shaving cream, linen, the list goes on. Go check out the Resources section of SCS and you'll find tutorials. I decided to finally give the Faux Silk technique a try and I'm so glad I did! I love the look of it, and I can't believe how easy it was!

I'm really happy with how this card came out. The main panel and the scallop all have glue dots under them since the ribbon is so puffy.
-Stamps-Artfully Asian and Always
-Paper-Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock; Pretty in Pink DSP.
-Ink-Black Staz-on
-Accessories-Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Basic Black markers; Scallop punch, 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punches, Flirty ribbon originals (retired), glue dots and Basic Black grosgrain.

SCS challenges

This card is for the sketch challenge SC172 and the color challenge CC163 on SCS. The color challenge was to use Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink.

This is my first time sewing on a card. I've always loved the look of it, but I've been to lazy to try it. My sewing machine is a piece of junk so I did it by hand. I just poked all of the holes with the paper piercing tool using the mat pack, then ran the thread through with a needle. Much easier that I thought it would be and I think it really ads a lot to a card.

I stamped the bird in Chocolate Chip and colored with the pastels using a Q-tip. -Stamps-Always and Define Your Life
-Ink-Chocolate Chip
-Paper-Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery cardstock; Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery prints DSP.
-Accessories-Pastels, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack and Brown thread

Always

I made this card for hubby. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I haven't made anything lately. The card box in my last post was the last thing I've made. I really need to get my butt in gear. I keep using the same colors all the time, so I'm trying to break out of that. I've got new stuff coming today, so maybe that will get me going =). I'm really loving this stamp set. I thought that bird was hideous at first, but after seeing all of the great stuff everyone's been making with it, I had to have it. I especially love that it's one of those sets that you can easily do a whole card with just that one stamp set. -Stamps-Always
-Ink-Groovy Guava, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa and Versamark
-Paper-Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa cardstock: Fall Flowers DSP
-Accessories-Retired 1/4" Chocolate Chip grosgrain, Stampin Sponges.
