SCS Sketch

Good morning! Well jury duty yesterday actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was told that they call in 65 people and pick 7-12 from that, but there were actually 300 of us there, minus those that were excused or didn't show. They said it was really busy week, so I think they actually ended up using most of us on different trials. The trial I was on started yesterday, and I was supposed to go back for the whole week, but last night hubby noticed the car leaking transmission fluid. We brought it to a mechanic and he said it looks like the seal is broken which isn't gonna be cheap to fix rolleyes. I called the courthouse and explained the situation, luckily they were understanding and excused me for the rest of the week. Anyway, I had this post scheduled for Wednesday since I didn't think I'd have much time to make any thing this week, but now that I do, I thought I'd go ahead and post it. I made this card for the sketch challenge on SCS. This was a fun sketch!

Birthday Dragon

Good morning! I hope you are had a great weekend. This post is scheduled since I'll be at the courthouse for jury duty today rolleyes. I'm really hoping I don't get picked, but if I do that's where I'll be all week, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. I do have another post scheduled for Wednesday though. I think it's ridiculous that they make 65 people come down there, when they only need 7-12. On the bright side though, we have a second car now! We actually got it a few months ago, but we just got tags and all that, so I can get a job now! Or I guess with this economy, I should say try to find one.
So isn't this dragon just about the cutest thing you've ever seen?! This is a free digital stamp by Dustin Pike. This the first time I've tried digital stamps, and I love them! It's so nice to be able to make images any size you want, you don't have to store them and I can blend as much as I want with out the ink bleeding. I LOVE this image! There is another dragon for Easter that is really cute too. I had it all colored and ready to stick on a card when I ruined it. It was laying on the table as I was coloring the image on another card, and it was under an open pink Copic I was using. I figured I better get it out of the way before I got ink on it, so I carelessly picked it up with the marker still on top of it and managed to draw a pink line through most of the image rolleyes. Oh well. I guess I can just consider that one practice wink. I got the idea for the clouds from Michelle Redman. She used a dauber with a scallop circle, but I don't have any daubers, so I used a sponge. It was so easy!

-Stamps-Free Digital image by Dustin Pike, and SU It's your Birthday
-Paper-White and Wild Wasabi cardstock; Summer Picnic DSP
-Ink-Pumpkin Pie and Bliss Blue
-Copics-Y17, Y38, YR04, YR09, B39, B95, G07, G12, G14
-Accessories-Dew Drops and Wild Wasabi ribbon.

Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! Today's Stamp Something Challenge is sponsored by Layers of Color. This week we have a sketch for you smile. Denise sent some Layers of Color images to those of us who wanted to use them. The images I used came from the set Polka Dot Parade. These images are so cute that after I finished my card, I couldn't resist making another!

I actually used some really old retired Bliss Blue cardstock on this one. It looked better with the colors of the image than Bashful Blue. I colored the elephant with B21 & B32. I just used the B32 which is what I shaded with to make the dots so dark. I just kept going back over them until they were dark enough. I love that about Copics! It looks like another color.

-Stamps-Layers of Color Polka Dot Parade, SU Nursery Necessities
-Paper-Certainly Celery, Bliss Blue and White cardstock; Delicate Dots DSP
-Ink-Black, Certainly Celery
-Copics-B21, B32, Y21, Y17, C-1
-Accessories-Saffron grosgrain,

-Stamps-Layers of Color Polka Dot Parade, Impression Obsession Cupcakes
-Paper-White, Real Red and Old Olive cardstock; Summer Picnic DSP

Cheers to you!

Good morning! I used Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge hosted by Cambria for this card. I love this sketch! I really like sketches that use small images. I have quite a few small stamps, and they are so much harder to use. My Cheers to You still hasn't seen much ink, so I thought I'd ink it up. I colored the the drinks Tempting Turquoise (B00 & B02 Copics) since that's the color of my two favorite mixed drinks. Blue Hawaiian and Smurf Piss (that one really needs a better name..that's just gross lol). The square nesties were made by using rectangles and cutting out two of the scallop sections from the middle.
-Stamps-Cheers To You
-Paper-Tempting Turquoise, White and Old Olive cardstock; Summer Picnic &Washington Apple DSP
-Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
-Copics-B00, B02, R27, R46, C-1, YR04, Y38, Y17

Thoughts and Prayers Birthday

Good morning! Hope you had a nice weekend! I got a lot of stamping done, but hardly anything actually completed. I'm so bad about starting a card and setting it aside to start another one. I finally got a box to put unfinished cards in so I don't forget about them. There's also a bunch of images in there I've colored that I haven't done anything with yet. razz BTW, no signs of the nasty little centipede since it so rudely visited me Thursday. Whew! I hope to never see that hideous thing again. Hopefully all those nasy little legs carried his ugly self back outside where he belongs. Anyway, I thought I'd use my Thoughts and Prayers set. I really love these stamps, but they aren't getting much use since I can't color them wink. I need to stop discriminating against my solid image stamps, lol. I used one of the stamps from So Many Sayings with my SAMJ to make the stripes (my set is cut apart and mounted on jenga blocks).

Hope you have a great day!!

BTW, make sure you check out Tiffany's blog. She is giving away some great stuff!!

-Stamps-Thoughts and Prayers, It's Your Birthday and So Many Sayings

-Ink-Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red; Old Olive and Chocolate Chip markers

Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! This weeks Stamp Something Challenge is sponsored by Roses on Paper. The them this week is spring! I'm glad spring is here in some ways, but I sure do miss the lack of bugs in the winter. And OMG, speaking of bugs....Okay, so I started on this card Wednesday night. I started off with a totally different image, and had the card mostly done but didn't like the how the image looked with the papers, so I tried another. Didn't like it either, so I just decided to finish later. So Thursday I went back to finish this card, and as I was holding it up to tie the ribbon something came slithering out of it! I just started screaming and threw it down. It was a centipede...UGH!! WTF was a centipede doing in my stamp room? Or my house period for that matter! Well of course as usual, most of my stamp table was so cluttered with stuff I didn't put away I couldn't see most of the table. When I spotted him again, he was disappearing under my bookshelf (my stamp table is really deep, so I put a bookshelf on it to hold my stamps). OMG, I am so creeped out about this thing being in my stamp room. They are freaking scary looking, not to mention all those ugly little legs, and they bite! I thought about taking everything off the bookshelf and moving it, but that would take forever, and he's probably not under there anymore anyway. Oh, and I looked up centipedes online to see how long they live...I was hoping they were like some bugs that only live a few days...I read they can live up to 6 years..not a comforting thought. I hope I'll get lucky and he'll just leave. Can ya tell I don't like bugs. I'm such a wuss. Anyway, here is my card. I used a really old Mojo Monday sketch again (#2) on this card.

-Stamps-Stampendous Fluffles, PTI Paper tray
-Paper-So Saffron and White cardstock; Cutie Pie DSP
-Ink-Certainly Celery, Memento black
-Copics-E31, E33, E35, YR31, R85, RV19, G21, YG93

Christmas cards

Good afternoon! I hope you are having a good Wednesday. I made a few more Christmas cards to get a little head start. I got this adorable little C.C. Designs monkey in WRAK. This paper is pretty thin, so I went out of the lines like crazy, but I didn't want to waste the adorable image, so I cut him out. I love the C.C. Designs monkey! He is just the most adorable little thing! I wish they had a set that was just the monkeys. Anyway, I colored this image a couple of weeks ago, so I don't remember which colors I used. -Stamps-C.C. Designs Christmas Around the World, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red and White cardstock, Dashing DSP
-Ink-Memento, Real Red
-Accessories-HPH, Red grosgrain, glitter

I did this one for Taylor's Sketch challenge 59. This is such a great sketch!

Poppy Patch

Good morning! Hope you all had a nice weekend. It pretty much rained the whole time here. But rainy days are good for stamping razz. I just LOVE this set Poppy Patch from Flourishes. I think I may have went a little overboard on poppies , lol. This one took a lot of pop dots wink. The poppy in the middle has two layers of pop dots under it.

So as I was making this card, I was really wanting some polka dot paper with Real Red/white, but I didn't have any. So...I dry embossed the dots with the swiss dots Cuttlebug folder on white cardstock and brayered over it with Real Red ink! I can't believe it worked! You do have to barely touch the paper with the brayer though. It took me a couple of tries to get one with out red where I didn't want it.

Oh, and for you Copic fans out there, you absolutely HAVE to check out THIS incredible giveaway of 72 Ciaos!

-Stamps-Flourishes Poppy Patch, SU So Many Sayings
-Paper-Real Red, So Saffron, White, Black
-Ink-Memento black
-Copics-R22, R29, R46, R59, YG93, YG95

Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! This weeks Stamp Something Challenge is sponsored by Rare Image Rubber Stamps. If you like to color, you definitely need to check them out! They have beautiful stamps. We all received some stamps from them to use for this challenge. Isn't this sunflower gorgeous!?! I love it! I've always loved sunflowers! I got a really cute mushroom stamp too, but I just couldn't make it fit on the card. Anyway, the theme for this week is a color combo of greens. I kinda cheated by using Kraft, but there just aren't that many greens that coordinate and I needed another color biggrin.

-Stamps-Rare Image Rubber Stamps garden, and SU Much Appreciated
-Paper-Kraft and White cardstock; Certainly Celery Prints and Summer Picnic DSP
-Ink-Memento black, Old Olive & Basic Black markers
-Copics-Y21, YR31, E31, E35, E37, YG93, YG95, G99

Mojo Monday sketch

Hello! I just made this card for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch Challenge. I got this stamp set for Christmas, and still haven't used it, so I thought I'd ink it up. The image is from What's brewing by Impression Obsession, and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado coffee classics. I inked the words in the sentiment separately and kinda rearranged some of them so the image would fit too.

-Stamps-Impression Obsession What's brewing, and Inkadinkado coffee classics
-Paper-White, Real Red and So Saffron cardstock; Bali Breeze DSP
-Ink-Real red marker, Memento tuxedo black
-Copics-B00, B02, B05, 0
-Accessories-Dew drops, Circle nesties, circle cutter, cuttlebug folder.

And this one uses an old Mojo Monday sketch, #2. Love this sketch! My card is looking a little off balance though. The layer on the right should have been up higher, but I actually used glue this time (normally use double sided tape) so I couldn't pull it back apart. So, I put some brads at the top to see if it would help, but I don't think they really work with the polka dots. I thought of starting over, but there is no way I'm wasting that gorgeous DSP =). Oh, well. I still like the card though. I think I'm going to do this sketch again, but no off balance, lol.

-Stamps-Hanna Stamps Snowski Riley, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, River Rock, Old Olive and White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Memento, Real Red
-Copics-E31, E33, E35, E37, R29, R37, R59, YG95
-Accessories-Circle Nesties, silver brads, Martha Stewart chunky glitter, glue

Give Thanks

Hello! I hope you all had a good weekend! I did! I spent most of it coloring, lol. My new markers came Saturday afternoon. Having more light colors really makes a difference! I found two more copic video tutorials this weekend too. They are both great! THIS one is by Linda of Linda's Works of Heart, and THIS one is by Sandy of It's a colorful world. I learned a lot from them both. I think my coloring is finally improving! It's also a LOT easier on stamps with more space in them like this one. Unfortunately my camera sucks! This really does look a lot better in person. My camera tends to make things look washed out. There are a lot more light colored highlight areas than you actually see. I wasn't even planning on doing anything with this image. I colored it and was happy with how it came out, so I made it into a card. I didn't write down the colors I used though, since I didn't expect it to actually come out good.

-Stamps-Inkadinkado cornucopica, SU Give Thanks, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
-Paper-Close to Cocoa, White, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie
-Ink-Memento, Copics
-Accessories-Nesties, SAMJ

I bought this cornucopia stamp a while back with the sole purpose of coloring it. I don't send out Thanksgiving cards, so I really don't have a use for it, but I thought it looked fun to color, and would be good practice. I did another one in totally weird colors experimenting with color combinations. I wrote the color numbers I used so I'd remember them later. I LOVE stamps that have the built in shading! It makes it lot easier for me. I'm horrible about knowing where to put shadows. So remember my Copic storage box I posted a couple weeks ago? Well a few of my new Copics wouldn't fit, so I made a new one! I like this one much better! I had to many colors together in the other one that I didn't really like having together, so I put extra 'shelves' in this one.
Here's what it looks like empty. As you can see, so my my shelves are a little crooked, but it's not hurting anything. I made this one So Saffron, because that's the color of my stamp room.

Hope you have a great day!!

The colors on this card are some of my favorites too! This was a fun challenge!

Sketch cards

I made this card with last weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I LOVE this sketch! I'm glad I finally got a chance to use it, along with my Thoughts & Prayers stamp set which has been neglected. =) I don't think I'm going to buy any more solid image stamps unless I can't live without them wink. Ever since I got Copics, they totally get ignored. Coloring is so much more fun! Speaking of which, my new markers will be here Saturday!! That is so fast! I just ordered them Monday night! Oh, and my Bellas should be here tomorrow or the next day too! I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
-Stamps-Thoughts & Prayers
-Paper-White, So Saffron and Old Olive cardstock; Rose Red prints DSP
-Ink-Rose Red and Old Olive markers
-Accessories-Apricot grosgrain, silver brads, corner round punch for scallops.

I made this one for the sketch challenge on SCS. I just used ribbon where the paper strips were supposed to be. I received this adorable IPodabella image from WishRaks. She was colored with Copics of course! Well her boots were colored with an SU marker because I keep forgetting to order a black copic. I'm pretty sure I forgot to put on on the order I just placed too rolleyes.-Stamps- Ipodabella, SU Boho Backgrounds
-Paper-Basic Black, Regal Rose and White cardstock; Rose Red prints DSP
-Ink-Memento black
-Copics-R85, RV10, RV13, RV19, E11, B95, B93, E35, E37
-Accessories-Regal Rose grosgrain, black brads

Fluffles

Hey! Well I finally got a chance to make a card today! I've been trying to pick out Copic colors, which takes me forever! I don't want to end up with colors I don't like, so what ever colors I'm considering I google to find cards it was used on, so I can see how the color really looks, and how well it goes with other colors since the Copic color charts are so horribly off. I was going to get 12 more Ciaos, but my sweet hubby told me I could get more if I wanted! So my 12 Ciaos turned into 13 Sketches, 10 Ciaos and a colorless blender refill (mine is dry already). Carpediemstore.com has free shipping on any order that contains at least $50 in sketch markers, but otherwise their shipping is really high! They haven't raised their prices yet like they were supposed to, so the sketch were only $3.95 each (Ciaos are $2.65), and I was thinking now would be a good time to get some of the colors not available in Ciao that I want since I know I'll never be able to get that price again. I emailed them and asked when they are raising their prices and they said the price will stay as is until they run out of inventory. Better get them cheap while you can!!

I've been wanting to try the new Gina K pure luxury cardstock, since I've heard how great it works with Copics, and Lorie sent me some to try out! Wasn't that sweet of her! She also sent me the gorgeous card below! I LOVE that sentiment! Have y'all tried this paper? The name describes it perfectly! It is awesome! Super smooth like SU, but really thick. You get beautiful stamped images just like SU cardstock. It does work great with Copics. They go on so smooth, and blending is easier. Even though it's such thick paper it doesn't feel like it's draining my marker like when I color on PTI though. I really love it! With that being said though, I think I'm actually going to stick with my Georgia Pacific for now though. Now that I've gotten used to the GP, it works almost as well. My main reason though, is that I participate in WishRaks, so I receive images that 99% of the time are stamped on GP. I noticed that when I colored on the Gina K paper for a while, and then went back to the GP is was much harder for me to blend and keep the ink from running out of the lines, so I don't want to get spoiled by the Gina K, to where I'm not able to color on the GP. If I was rich I'd just buy all the stamps I wanted and only use Gina K cardstock, but I'm not, lol. Seriously though, I highly recommend the Gina K cardstock!

ETA: I forgot to mention this sketch is from the Viva La Verve challenges on SCS. I didn't follow the rules though. It was supposed to be a monochromatic card, but I really liked the sketch. You can see the sketch HERE.

-Stamps-Stampendous Fluffles, PTI Papertray
-Paper-Gina K pure luxury, GP white, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Purely Pomegranate cardstock; Cutie Pie DSP

Thanks again for the gorgeous card and the paper Lorie!
