Easy Christmas card

This is a super simple Christmas card. I love Snow Flurries and Seeing Spots together. I made a card kinda similar to this the year before last, and then I made another last year based on the other, and now this one. Just casing myself I guess =). Too bad I made it upside down, lol. I didn't even realize it until I was standing it up to get a picture of it. Haha, I can't believe I did that. Oh well. I'll fix it later. Probably just flip it over and use the back.-Stamps-Snow Flurries, Seeing Spots and Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper white
-Ink-Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Purely Pomegranate
-Accessories-Paper Piercer, Mat Pack and Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon.

New stamps =)

I got a new stamp set yesterday =). I have just discovered the great prices of Inkadinkado clear stamps! I've been wanting a dog set for a while, and this one was just too cute to pass up. I starting looking online at other Inkadinkado stamp sets and found several more I couldn't live without...I can't wait till they get here! I also just put in a small SU order.

The border around the paw print is from Priceless. I just inked everything but the flower. I'm not too sure how I feel about it right above the dogs head, but that spot looked really bare with the way the sentiment curves. -Stamps-Priceless and Inkadinkado Dogs
-Paper-Soft Sky, Basic Black, Blue Bayou and Whisper White
-Ink-Blue Bayou and Palette black
-Accessories-1 1/4 & 1 3/8 circle punches, Paper piercer and mat pack

Check this out

A few days ago I was blog hoppin' and came across the very talented Carolyn King's blog. You have got to go there now and check out THIS post. She is having a huge blog candy giveaway in honor of world Alzheimer's day. This is such a horrible disease that has taken so many wonderful people. This is especially near and dear to me because my grandmother has Alzheimers disease. Carolyn is asking that we send cards to the caregivers of Alzheimer's patients, which I think is a fabulous idea, so I am sending this card to my grandmother's nursing home.

This is SC195 on SCS.

Stamp Something Challenge 20

Good morning and happy Friday!! This weeks Stamp Something Challenge is an easy one...Embellished Somethings! Now stop hoarding all of those embellishments and put them to good use =).

This card measures 4.25 X 4.25". It took no time to make! I stamped the sentiment and the image twice. Once in Pink Pirouette and again in Riding Hood Red almost on top. I didn't use my SAMJ though, so you can only see parts of the Pink Pirouette underneath. I am lovin' these colors! -Stamps-Upsy Daisy, Polka Dots & Paisley, Priceless
-Paper-So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White
-Ink-So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It won't be too much longer, and I've still got a lot of cards to make. I like to make them all different, but this year there may have to be some duplicates.

So I guess you can see I haven't put away my sewing machine from the card I posted Tuesday. That dang this is heavy though! I keep meaning to get one of those little ones. Anyway, I got a little crazy with the glitter too =). On this one I painted Elmer's glue using a paint brush on the snow, the snowmen and a little on the tree.
-Stamps-Wishing you Cheer, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, Soft Sky, and Whisper White
-Ink-Soft Sky and Real Red
-Accessories-Soft Sky reinker and Blender pen, Glue Dots, sewing machine and white thread, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Martha Stewart glitter: Crystal Coarse, Crystal Fine and Carrara Marble.

Yeah, so this one is pretty overdone. My plan was to put the stitching where you see it closest to the outside. Just one go around, not two. I accidentally sewed the Real Red to the Old Olive, which just looked really funny to me, so I decided to go ahead and sew that piece to the base, even though I knew it would probably come out overdone.
-Stamps-Season of Joy, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White
-Ink-Old Olive, Summer Sun, Real Red and Close to Cocoa
-Accessories-Martha Stewart Glitter Crystal Fine, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Sewing Machine and thread.

Awesome One Sheet Wonder

Good afternoon! The other day I saw a link somewhere to THIS one sheet wonder in the Verve forum on SCS. It's great! All you need is one sheet of 6 X 6 double sided DSP, and some cardstock to make 4 cards.

I always forget that the Dashing DSP has Very Vanilla in it, instead of Whisper White so on 3 of the 4 cards I used WW until I realized it, lol.
-Stamps-Holiday Blocks (retired), Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive, River Rock and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

I just inked up part of the image on this one my markers.
-Stamps-Season of Joy
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive markers
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

-Stamps-Holiday Tag Team, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red; Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black markers.

The poinsettia is was stamped in classic Real Red, but it was still so wet after I stamped it, I was about to heat set it so I wouldn't smear it, and decided to just emboss it with clear EP instead. Then I gently curled the edges and put Stampin' Dimensionals underneath, along with the three layers underneath.

-Paper-Real Red, River Rock, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive
-Accessories-Clear EP, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sewing machine and red thread

Stamp Something Challenge 19

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a good week. Happy Friday! Today's Stamp Something Challenge is hosted by Melissa. Her challenge to us is to use the following picture as inspriation.
Here's mine. Two sets of the cherries were cut out and attached with mini glue dots. The stripes at the bottom are just 1/2" strips of whisper white glued down. After each one I glued, I put another right next to it to use as a spacer so they'd be pretty even. This card measures 4 3/4" X 4 1/4".
-Stamps-Tart and Tangy, Sentiment from Impression Obsession cupcakes
-Paper-Basic Black, Real Red, White
-Ink-Versamark, Real Red and Old Olive markers
-Accessories-Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, mini glue dots, White detail EP, Red Gingham ribbon,

Scrapbook page

So I finally did another scrapbook page. Well two actually. I decided on Saturday I wanted to get back into scrapbooking more seriously. I was going through my pictures on the computer trying to decide which ones to have printed. Well I turned off my computer to put my CD burner back in (hubby was borrowing it, since he doesn't have one at the moment) and my computer wouldn't come back on. It kept giving me an error message. So Sam put my hard drive in his computer to see if it would work which it didn't. We also tried using an external hard drive enclosure which also didn't work. By this point I was getting pretty worried about my pictures and documents being gone. I hadn't backed anything up in a LONG time. You'd think I would have learned from this last time this happened. I was using hubby's computer from about December to July (loaned someone mine) and his hard drive crashed with my pictures from that time on it. Never did get those back.

Luckily hubby was able to do a repair install of windows which worked. I had enough time to burn CD's of everything important before it started going crazy again. Whew! Now my motherboard isn't working either, but I'm not too worried about that. I got my stuff, so I'm just using hubby's computer for right now. So, if you haven't backed your files in a while, you might want to do that =). Keep in mind that your hard drive could crash at anytime! Most of the recovery places I looked into before hubby fixed it wanted around $300.

So I haven't been online hardly at all lately. I'm sill working on downloading stuff, installing programs, and organizing files and all that. I am so backed up on my Google reader right now it's not even funny. I just checked and I have 458 unread posts! I subscribe to way too many blogs!

Anyway, these pictures were taken in early 2001. We don't normally get snow like this around here, so we decided to really have some fun. We have a huge pretty open field, so there was tons of room to play in the snow. So after our snowball fight someone came up with the idea to use a car hood from a junk car turned upside down as a sled, attached with rope to the 4-wheeler to pull it around. OMG, that was so much fun! We had to start using a truck about half way through though, because the 4-wheeler was getting too hot. Who knew you could have so much fun with a car hood, lol.

And I just realized when I saw this picture that the pictures on this side of the page are down lower and a little crooked. Hopefully I can fix that =). The chipboard letters are covered with Soft Sky prints DSP. I sanded the edges and added a little white ink to them with a q-tip. On the snowflakes I did the Rock and Roll technique with Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.

Upsy Daisy

OMG, I am just loving Upsy daisy! I got my order yesterday with that and two of the new In Colors. Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red are just gorgeous! I'm not quite as sad about Pomegranate being gone now, but I am still kicking myself for not ordering an extra pack paper before it sold out though. Can you see a pattern here rolleyes. Anyway, here are two cards I made yesterday. The flower image on both cards were stamped in a light color, then just a little off with a darker color. I don't have any of the new DSP yet, so I sort of made my own using white embossing powder and the polka dots from Polka Dots & Paisley. It does kinda look like DP I think biggrin. I *finally* remembered to order the embossing buddy. Seriously, I've been meaning to order it for at least a year, but it's one of those things that seems so insignificant when your flipping through the catty and seeing so many gorgeous stamps. That thing really does make a difference though! No more stray EP spots.
