My time sketch

Hey! I hope you're all having a good day so far! I haven't done a darn thing today but stamp biggrin. Well, ya know the snow I mentioned yesterday? After I got done with my post, I looked outside and it was all gone except for little bits here and there. It snowed most of the day but no more stuck. Oh well, maybe next year. I did get my catalog yesterday though!!

I used Lauren Meader's sketch 19 for these cards. The sketch was from a couple of weeks ago, I've been meaning to do it and just kept forgetting about it. Love this layout! It's so much harder for me to use small images, but this sketch is perfect for small stuff.
-Stamps-Impression Obsession Cupcakes, Hey Cupcake sentiment
-Paper-Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink cardstock; Pretty in Pink and Soft Sky DSP.
-Ink-Chocolate Chip, Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
-Accessories-Pretty in Pink taffeta, Nestabilities, circle punches.

I loved the sketch so much, I had to make another!

HELP! Do any of you know much about sewing machines? Look at the picture below. See how the thread that should be underneath his pulled through the top a little in some places? How do I make it stop doing this? It just started doing this recently and I don't have a clue how to make it stop. It's a lot more noticeable on straight stitches. I've tried adjusting the tension, but that doesn't seem to be helping, unless I just didn't do it enough or something. Any ideas?

ETA: Thanks ladies! It turns out it was the bobbin tension. I didn't even know there was such a thing, but all I had to do was turn a screw on the bobbin casing a little bit and now it works perfectly again! Woohoo!! mrgreen

-Stamps-Tart & Tangy, Impression Obsession cupcakes (sentiment)
-Paper-Old Olive, Kraft and Whisper White cardstock; Summer Picnic DSP
-Ink-Real Red, Old Olive
-Accessories-Nestabilities, Circle punches, sewing machine, white thread, Olive grosgrain and blender pen.

what's wrong with just stamping- you accomplished a lot. I like how you used one sketch and came up with two totally different cards- need to try that next time I do a challenge.
don't ask me about sewing....

These are great Emily! Love that sketch too, great way to show off some pretty papers and cute little images. You rocked both of these cards, love the color combos and images! Too bad your snow is all gone. You can come here and play in my yard, we have a couple feet! :)

Love the cards for sure! About the stitching - what does the underside of the card look like? Are there loops underneath? If so - your tension is off. If not, you might try a different needle as different needles are used for different fabrics. Larger ones for heavier fabric and smaller ones for thinner fabric, so maybe that needle is wrong for the number of layers or has become dull. I hope this helps you as I used to sew a lot! Renee

Wonderful cards Emily. Sorry I can't help with the sewing I don't even own a machine. I think they are both great.

Wow - your stitching is great!! I think the bobbin tension is what's wrong with my machine too - so you helped me out too - that is why I never sew on my cards, because it always messes up. I'll have to check it out now. These cards are awesome, love both of them!
