Sales Tax Holiday in August for Selected States
Good news! Several states' legislatures have passed a special sales tax holiday during specific dates in August. During this period, sales tax does not apply to school supplies. The participating states typically define school supplies as any item normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.
The following states are participating in the sales tax holiday:
Alabama: August 3-5
District of Columbia: August 4-12
Florida: August 4-13
Georgia: August 2-5
Louisiana: August 3-4
Missouri: August 3-5
New Mexico: August 3-5
North Carolina: August 3-5
South Carolina: August 3-5
Tennessee: August 3-5
Virginia: August 3-5
Here is the chart of what applies. I'm not sure how big this picture is going to show up, but if you click on it you can see it full size.

Remind me never to do this again
Well, I've never stamped on wrapping paper before. But I wanted to do some with Wild About You for my Sister-in-law's baby shower tomorrow. She is a stamper too, so I thought she'd like this. This set matches the bedding in the nursery (very cute by the way). Well, maybe I should have gotten a smaller gift...lol., but no I got a bathtub. This took 6 feet of wrapping paper. My arms were so sore by the time I got done.
And here is the little tag on top (which is really crooked!)And the matching card.
-Stamps-Wild About You, Polka Dots & Paisley, Mini Mates, Big Pieces
-Paper-Bashful Blue, Bliss Blue, Barley Banana, So Saffron, Certainly Celery
-Ink-Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow, Pale Plum
-Accessories-White Wrapping paper, Celery Ribbon, Blue Ribbon (can't remember which one that is), ticket corner punch and white signo gel pen. I think thats everything =).

Ginormous Flowers & Big Pieces
Well, I finally made something with my new stamp sets! I didn't get too much on my first order. I got Ginormous Flowers, Big Pieces, It's All Good and Baroque Motifs. I need to get off my butt and make some more stuff now =).
I still can't believe Cool Caribbean is retired. But I'm going to keep using it anyway. =)
This layout was a CASE from Beate.
-Stamps-Ginormous Flowers, Big Pieces, It's All Good, and Polka dots & Paisley.
-Ink-Cool Caribbean, Rose Red and Old Olive
-Paper-Cool Caribbean, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive
-Accessories-Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, Rhinestone brad, White Signo Gel Pen, and the ribbon I just love! I got at Michaels. It's Elements by American Crafts. I don't have the InColors yet, but I think it would look great with Purely Pomegranate.

Wanna get the perks of being a demo, without being one?
for a couple of people that are willing to commit to spending $50 a month on Stampin’ Up! products,
and in exchange I’ll give you my discount of 20% off*! There is no limit on how much you spend, just as
long at it’s $50 or more each month. To be honest, I’m having a hard time meeting my minimum sales
requirements by myself, but I don’t want to lose my discount, so this way we can help each other.
Qualifying orders still receive hostess benefits as usual. You do not have to be local to do this, just as
long as you are in the United States. Orders will be mailed directly to you. When Stampin’ Up! ships your
order, I can email you the tracking number. If you have any questions at all, I’d be happy to answer
them for you, or if your interested just email me at Stampingexpressions@gmail.com
*The 20% comes off the subtotal after tax and shipping are calculated in.

I made these a few days ago, I just forgot to post them. I'm a bad blogger. I don't update enough =).
I made this card for my husbands grandma (still haven't mailed it).
-Stamps-Doodle This and Polka Dots & Paisley.
-Ink-Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Whisper White Craft ink.
-Paper-Rose Red, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip cardstock. So Saffron prints designer series paper.
-Accessories-Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain(retired), white Signo gel pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.
This one I'm not too crazy about, but I was trying to make myself use Looks Like Spring, which I rarely pick up anymore. I don't think the So Saffron or the Regal Rose fit in with the Rose Red and Old Olive. The layout of this card was a CASE from page 41 in the new catalog. The ideas in there are soooo much better this year!
-Stamps-Looks Like Spring and Artfully Asian
-Ink-Rose Red, Old Olive and Regal Rose
-Paper-Rose Red and Old Olive cardstock. Rose Red and So Saffron Prints designer series paper.
-Accessories-Spring Bouquet punch, pewter Hodgepodge hardware, Rose and Chocolate chip 1/4" grosgrain (both retired), light pink gingham ribbon, and clear rhinestone brad.
The scalloped circle on this card was made using the corner rounder punch. You can see a tutorial for that HERE. The layout was a CASE from Jeanne S on SCS. You can see her card HERE.
-Stamps-Wild About You, Polka Dots & Paisley
-Ink-More Mustard, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Basic Black, Bashful Blue and Ruby Red.
-Paper-Barely Banana and Bashful Blue cardstock. Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper.
Accessories- Apricot Appeal 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, white Signo gel pen, corner rounder punch.

Tagged
Wow, I just realized I've been tagged by Sara, Carrie, and Theresa. Go check out their blogs. Their great!
So, here is what I’ve got to do…
1. Tell you all 7 things about myself.
2. Tag 7 other bloggers to do the same.
3. Post these rules and the names of the other 7 bloggers I tag.
4. Leave tagged bloggers a comment on their blog so they know they’ve been tagged.
Hmmm, this is going to be hard =).
1.) I started dating my hubby when I was 15. We got engaged when I was 17, and married at 18.
2.) I am terrified of roaches! I'd much rather see a snake any day (well except for the 5 foot rattlesnake my dog found in the backyard).
3.) I don't have any children yet (looking forward to it though). Right now our only babies are a long haired chihuahua, and 2 pit bulls (don't believe everything you hear about them. It's all about how they are raised. Ours are the sweetest dogs you could ever ask for).
4.) Wanna take a guess at my hobby? LOL =)
5.) I hate mushrooms! UGH, that texture is just horrible.
6.) I love Pineapple and Coconut!
7.) My favorite color for clothes is blue, but for most other things it's pink.
I am tagging
Senice
Lorien
Rachel
AJ
Well, I can't seem to find anyone else that hasn't been tagged already. So if you haven't been, consider yourself tagged. =)

Altered clipboard
Here is an altered clipboard I just finished. I think I liked it better before I decorated the top. I think it's a little bit over done or something. I don't know, maybe it would have looked better if I used the same paper I used on the rest of the clipboard. Sorry, lately my blog seems like it's mainly Doodle This. I just can't get enough of it! I'm kinda tired of most of my other sets. I think I need to trade some of the on Splitcoast.
-Stamps-Doodle this
-Ink-Chocolate Chip
-Paper-Rose Red, So saffron designer Prints paper and Chocolate Chip cardstock
-Accessories-Clear Rhinestone brads, Watercolor crayons, aqua painter, blender pen, Rose grosgrain (retired), Chocolate grosgrain (retired), and Apricot grosgrain. For the grosgrain ribbon that is retired, you can just get the white ribbon dye your own. Check out THIS awesome tutorial by AmyR.
