New stamps!!

Are these not just the cutest stamps ever?!mrgreen Ahh, I love new stamps! These are early Christmas presents from my parents. They ordered me some stamps from Impression Obsession, and my mom told me I could have the Christmas ones early biggrin. Oh, and they got me 20 Copic ciaos for my birthday, which is today, but I got some of them last week, lol. I'm still trying to decide what I want from hubby. I really want the big shot, but I can't help but think of all the stamps I could be buying with that money. I kinda want some storage stuff too, but that seems so boring. I'm too indecisive!

More Christmas cards =)

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! I saw this color combo somewhere recently, but I can't remember where. The card I saw used Baja Breeze though, but I don't have that color yet, so I used Soft Sky. This first card looked a lot better before I put those huge brads on. Problem was though, I poked all the holes with my paper piercer, and then decided the holes I poked were too close to the edge so I poked new ones next to them. Then I decided that smaller brads would look much better, but by that point it was too late, because the small brads wouldn't cover up both holes. Duh! lol Oh, well. I'm still pretty happy with it though. The brads were silver, but I just embossed them to make them white. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this stamp set! I love coloring it! I wanted to use my Copics, but I didn't have the right colors, so I used an SU marker for the Burgundy and an Aqua Painter with my Soft Sky ink pad.
-Stamps-Crazy for Christmas, Polka Dots & Paisley, PTI Take a Bough

-Ink-Palette Black, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky and Bravo Burgundy
-Accessories-Sewing machine, white thread, brads, Aqua painter and, Bravo Burgundy marker and 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches

Loved the color combo so much I decided to make another biggrin. I just inked up the image with Soft Sky, and then went right over it with markers.

Stamp Something Challenge

Good morning! This weeks Stamp Something Challenge is sponsored by our very own Denise of Whimsy Stamps! They are such cute stamps! The theme this week is Red, Green and Gold. Perfect for Christmas! I hate to think how many Christmas card I have done now. I've been finished for a while, but I can't seem to stop making more! Isn't this the cutest frog?! He sits on a lily pad, but I don't have enough different green copic markers yet, so I cut him off, since he looked like he was kind of blending into it. The Santa hat is from Inkadinkado Penguin Pandemonium. I started off using Jen's Sketch For you to try, but I made a few changes to make the image I was using work with it.

-Stamps-Whimsy Frog, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-White cardstock; Real Red and Wild Wasabi prints & Dashing DSP; Gold paper..unknown
-Ink-Brillance Black and White Craft; Copic markers

ETA: Totally off topic, but I just saw a thread on SCS about http://www.freeshippingday.com/ On December 18th, there are a bunch of stores that will be offering free shipping and guarantee delivery by Christmas. How awesome is that? There are already a lot listed, and it says there will be more closer to the 18th.

Everyone starts with 3 'free' wishes. You wish for images you want, and grant others wishes to receive more wishes. Bella

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend! I finally started my Christmas shopping biggrin. I'm almost done too! I love Christmas shopping, and even more, I love to wrap presents!

I made this card last night with this adorable Bella image I received from Erin and/or Denise (can't remember wink). I'm not sure which one she is. I couldn't find her on the website. For a long time I didn't like the Bellas because they have normal legs, but stick arms. Still bugs me a little, but they are really growing on me. They are just way too cute! The flowers are Prima Sprites that I forgot I had. I did a little cleaning in here and found a few things I forgot I had razz. The flower in the center was colored with a copic marker to match her dress. The other one's I used match the Pink Pirouette almost perfectly! The sentiment is from Nursery Necessities. I just inked up half of it each time and used a SAMJ.

-Stamps-Bella, Nursery Necessities
-Paper-Purely Pomegranate, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White cardstock; Cutie Pie DSP (retired)
-Ink-Copics
-Accessories-Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Prima Sprites, Rhinestone brad.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

True Friend

Hello! I hope you are all having a good day! I made this card for Jen Del Muro's sketch challenge. I love this sketch! The possibilities are endless. This one will definitely get used again wink. Please don't look too closely at my sewing, haha. I really screwed it up. It wasn't all my fault though. My sewing machine was doing weird stuff, but I can't blame the crookedness on it...that was all me lol. On the bright side though, at least my circle cutter was cooperating today.

Taylor's Sketch challenge

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend! I made this card yesterday for Taylor's Cupcake Sketch challenge. This is such a fun sketch. I'm not really loving my card though, but I don't have anything else to share right now, so I thought I'd post it anyway lol. Normally when I'm not happy with something, I'll stay at it until I am, but this one was about to end up in the trash if I kept messing with it. I was getting mad, lol. I stared off with the SU scallop circle and Boho Backgrounds, but it looked too small, so I went with this. I must have cut out 15 circles and colored that darn dog at least 5 times. It was always something. Either my ink was running out of the lines, or I stamped the sentiment too hard, or I got a lopsided looking circle. Ugh!As you can tell, my circle cutter sucks, lol. It kind of weaves in and out sometimes. It's not quite as crooked as it looks in this picture though. I'm not even going to tell you how long I spent on this card wink.

Well, I better go clean up a little bit. My stamp room needs some cleaning too. I haven't put anything away in a while, so I'm really running out of table space, lol. Hopefully I'll have some time to stamp and visit your blogs later. I am so behind in my Google Reader again rolleyes.

Hope you all have a fab day!!

-Paper-Basic Black, Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate and Pink Pirouette.

SC204 and a recipe =)

Aren't these monkeys adorable! I've been wanting this set for a few months, so when I saw it at Hobby Lobby last night I had to get it! I got 4 more Copics and a Brilliance ink pad toorazz. This one is working great. I don't know whats up with the palette. I've seen a bunch of people say that's what they use, but it runs like crazy for me, even if I heat set it. This card uses the sketch challenge on SCS, 204.

-Stamps-Mindy's Zoo by Autumn Leaves, It's your Birthday
-Paper-Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White cardstock; Washington Apple DSP
-Ink-Brilliance graphite black, Wild Wasabi and Copics.

I wanted to share a great recipe with you too. I'm actually making this right now, to bring with us tomorrow. We are going to NC to see hubby's family. This is one of my favorite deserts! I'll warn you, it's rich, and I'm sure it's horrible for you wink.

Caramel Pie
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
Graham cracker pie crust
Small container of Cool Whip
Mini Chocolate Chips (or shaved Hershey's bar) to sprinkle on top

I always double this recipe, since it's not trouble at all to make more, you just need a bigger pot.
Remove the labels from the cans of sweetened condensed milk. Scrap off the glue with a fork or something. It will leave a nasty very hard to remove ring in your pot if you don't. Boil the cans of sweetened condensed milk ON THEIR SIDES (just in case they bust) for 2 1/2 hours. Make sure they are fully covered with water at all times because they could cause them to burst. Rotate the cans every half hour or so. Drain the water, and once the cans are cooled off, put them in the refrigerator. Wait at least 2 hours before you open the cans. Empty the cans into a bowl and stir. Then just put the caramel into the pie crusts. Top with cool whip and mini chocolate chips. Let it sit in the refrigerator a few more hours or overnight if possible to firm up. It tastes better later too.

Oh, and if you want to knock off some of the calories, you can use one can of reduced fat sweet condensed milk and one regular for each pie (I've never tired doing both). You really can't tell. It just makes it slightly less rich. I actually prefer it this way, but I forgot about that when I was buying sweetened condensed milk yesterdayrolleyes.

BTW, I've never had a can burst, but it's always best to be on the safe side. If you don't feel comfortable with this method though, I've seen a recipe where you empty the cans into a slow cooker and cook for 6 hours. I've never tried it though.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
