Card box tutorial!

I just designed this box that holds cards and envelopes, so I thought I'd make it a tutorial.

What you'll need:
1 piece of 6 1/2" X 11 1/2" cardstock for box
1 piece of 8 1/2" X 5" cardstock.
Sticky strip or some other strong adhesive (I used Tombow mono multi)
Corner rounder punch (if you'd like a scalloped edge)
paper trimmer with scoring blade

Score 6 1/2 X 11 1/2 cardstock vertically at 1". Flip horizontally and score at 1/2", 5 1/16(first mark after 5"), 6 1/16 and 10 5/8 (mark after 10 1/2).Hold cardstock horizontally with the 1 inch score at the bottom. Cut vertically at the bottom so that you have 1" flaps. Completely cut off the narrow piece. This will be the bottom of the box. It should look like this.
Put glue or sticky strip along the 1/2" flap and attach it to the other side. The flap should be on the inside so it doesn't show.

Fold the bottom pieces in and glue them. I pushed with my ruler from the inside to help make the glue stick.

The bottom of your box is done. Now for the lid. It's basically done the same way just with different measurements.

Score 8 1/2" X 5" cardstock vertically at 2" and 3". Flip horizontally and score at 2" and 6 1/2".

Hold your paper horizontally. Cut at the top and the bottom on both sides vertically to the score point. It should look like this (sorry for the bad picture).
If you'd like a scallop edge on your box you need to trim the sides so they don't show from the other side when the box is together. I know that probably doesn't make since, so here is a picture so you can see what I mean.

Make your scallop edge now.

Put glue on the lid and tuck the side pieces under the middle pieces.

Now all you've got to do is decorate it =).

I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial! Please let me know if you find any mistakes so I can correct them.
